With the new school year right around the corner, it’s never too early to have a skin care plan in place. With early wake-up times, homework, and activities, teens are busy. We spoke with QMG Licensed Esthetician Elena Holman about some tips your teen should keep in mind when it comes to their skin.

  1. It’s never too early to start a good habit. Incorporating skin care at a young age, just like brushing your teeth, is so important for maintaining healthy skin.
  2. The three most products to start using as a teen are a cleanser, moisturizer, and daily SPF.
  3. Use moisturizer. -Most people think that because you are more prone to acne as a teenager, you shouldn’t moisturize. All skin types (even oily) should moisturize. I recommend seeing your local esthetician for a proper recommendation of the best skincare products for your skin type.
  4. If you have skin care concerns, a dermatologist can help. Dermatologists handle any skin concerns such as acne, acne scarring, rashes, warts, etc. There are multiple options and treatments available for acne.
