Keokuk, IA – Quincy Medical Group (QMG) is pleased to announce continued expansion of services in Keokuk with the acquisition of Tri-State Medical Group in Keokuk.

As of April 6, 2017, the practice will become Quincy Medical Group, Keokuk Affiliate.  Current providers Dr. Don Manarang, DO (Family Practice) and Nurse Practitioners Pati Griffith (Family Practice) and Jamey Washburn (Family Practice) will continue their work at the facility providing the community with a seamless transition of services.

These efforts began last October when leaders at Keokuk Health Systems (KHS) and UnityPoint Health signed a nonbinding memorandum of understanding to explore an affiliation.  Under the agreement, UnityPoint Health would become the sole corporate member of KHS, and QMG will expand the clinical services that it provides in Keokuk as part of QMG’s relationship with UnityPoint. The affiliation became effective January 1, 2017.

“As part of the relationship with UnityPoint Health, we are excited to strengthen high-quality clinical services in the Keokuk area with Quincy Medical Group,” said Dr. Donza T. Worden, MD, Chief Clinical Officer at Keokuk Area Hospital.  “Collaboration is key in healthcare, and these efforts will increase access to care while improving care coordination and the patient experience.”

The Keokuk Affiliate, located at 1425 Morgan St., will become an extension of the Quincy Medical Group Keokuk Family Practice Clinic with Dr. Joe Smith, MD and Dr. James Holsinger, MD located at 1603 Morgan, Suite #3. These efforts will increase access to primary care providers, specialists, and hospital services.

“The relationship between UnityPoint Health, Keokuk Area Hospital, and Quincy Medical Group is a major milestone for health care in our region,” said Walt Stephens, Board Chair, Keokuk Health Systems.  “The partnership strengthens our ability to focus our efforts to provide quality health services to our area patients.”

In addition to the current services provided, QMG will focus efforts to look to bring additional specialty resources to the area.  These services include urology and gynecology, and continued oncology services.

“Our partnership with Keokuk Area Hospital provides an inclusive approach to healthcare which will benefit patients in the community,” said Carol Brockmiller, QMG CEO.  “QMG plans to build upon this partnership to understand the needs of the region and provide patients with the best quality of care.”
