Travel Medicine

No matter where your journey takes you, from India to Peru, from Kenya to China, Board-Certified Infectious Disease Physician Hala Saad, MD, is here to help you stay healthy on your travels. Guided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines, Dr. Saad assists travelers aged 6 and up in preparing for a safe and healthy journey.

When you schedule an appointment with us, you can expect a comprehensive consultation where we will collect detailed information about your travels. Dr. Saad stays up to date on the latest information on global health conditions and reviews resources from the CDC, World Health Organization, and the U.S. State Department before administering immunizations and prescribing medications.

Your Visit with Us

During your visit, we’ll discuss preventative hygiene practices, potential immunization side effects, review relevant health conditions, prescription instructions, and general travel information for the countries you’ll be visiting.

Dr. Saad provides vaccinations against infectious diseases that are still prevalent in developing or tropical countries, as well as detailed information about precautions to take to stay healthy while you’re away. Topics can include precautions for food, water, insects, country-specific information, specific health conditions, and traveling with children.

Immunizations & Prescriptions

We offer a range of routine and travel-related immunizations for preventable diseases transmitted through various means. After administering the appropriate immunizations, travelers receive a Certificate of Vaccination, often necessary for entry into many foreign countries.

We also can provide prescriptions for the prevention of malaria, traveler’s diarrhea, motion sickness, altitude sickness, and leptospirosis from freshwater.

Note: Immunity can take at least 10 – 14 days to develop. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends that you schedule your appointment four to six weeks before your departure, if possible.
