QUINCY, IL — Quincy Medical Group (QMG) is pleased to announce the reintroduction of its home hemodialysis program. This program empowers patients with end-stage renal disease by offering a convenient treatment option in the comfort of their own homes.

Hemodialysis is a vital treatment that removes waste products and excess fluid from the blood when the kidneys are no longer functioning properly. Traditionally, this treatment takes place in a clinic setting several times a week. Home hemodialysis provides patients with the flexibility to receive the same life-saving treatment on their own schedule.

“We’re thrilled to reintroduce this valuable program at QMG,” said Laikyn McClelland, a dialysis registered nurse. “Home hemodialysis offers significant benefits for patients, including greater flexibility, improved quality of life, and a stronger sense of control over their healthcare.”

The QMG home hemodialysis program complements the existing peritoneal dialysis unit at QMG. Patients receive comprehensive training and support, ensuring they and their caregivers feel confident performing the treatment.

“By adding home hemodialysis,” McClelland concluded, “we strengthen our commitment to providing comprehensive kidney care and expanding treatment options for patients in our community.”
