Developmental Assessments (Ages 0-4)

The Quincy Medical Group Pediatric Assessment Center offers comprehensive interdisciplinary evaluations for children from birth to 4 years of age. Our comprehensive assessments include an evaluation by a clinical psychologist, a speech/language pathologist, and an occupational therapist and include:

  • Assessment of speech/language, motor skills, and cognitive skills
  • Assessments of autism, cognition, early academic abilities, and other areas related to development
  • Assessment of anxiety, mood, safety, and behavioral issues
  • Assistance and recommendations in developing an appropriate educational, behavioral, and medical treatment plan

The typical assessment process includes:

  • Interview with caregivers to gather information and understand concerns
  • One appointment with the child (up to 2 hours in length), which may include administration of tests and structured observations through play
  • Feedback with caregivers to review test results, diagnosis (if appropriate), and treatment recommendations

If you believe your child would benefit from a comprehensive assessment, you may call your child’s primary care provider and request a referral.
