Hello, My name is Angela Duncan I am a Nurse Practitioner at the QMG Cancer Institute. I strive to encourage my patients efforts to preserve their hopes and confidences by encouraging them to express and communicate how they feel when diagnosed with a life-threatening illness. They all respond in different ways to their diagnoses. Many of our patients have favorable prognoses. But, there are many obstacles that can be daunting, just the perception of facing the possibility of dying of cancer and the struggles in striving to prevent or delay it becomes the fight of their lives. I am humbled by my patients as their struggles are bound to be filled with fear, desperation, and inner anguish. I try to be present and listen as they describe their coming to terms with their diagnoses, treatments, symptoms, life after treatment and even the possibility of death.
