I believe in stay­ing cur­rent and offer­ing cut­ting edge tech­niques — like robot­ic surgery — where it is ben­e­fi­cial, but only where it is tru­ly ben­e­fi­cial to the patient. I try to keep costs down where pos­si­ble, so for exam­ple I don’t use the robot for every case just because it is there. I take pride in try­ing to explain the prob­lem and the treat­ment options in nor­mal terms that don’t require a med­ical degree to under­stand. I am a straight-shoot­er and will be frank dur­ing these discussions.

I enjoy gen­er­al surgery specif­i­cal­ly because it allows vari­ety. How­ev­er, I am par­tic­u­lar­ly inter­est­ed in min­i­mal­ly inva­sive (laparo­scop­ic & robot­ic) surgery and can­cer operations.
Personal Interests
I enjoy hik­ing in the moun­tains, and we get to Col­orado every year. I grew up on a farm in Iowa — and the clos­est I get to farm­ing these days is rais­ing Kiko goats — they are great for clear­ing brush out of the woods! I enjoy motor­cy­cles & mus­cle cars.
