I believe in staying current and offering cutting edge techniques — like robotic surgery — where it is beneficial, but only where it is truly beneficial to the patient. I try to keep costs down where possible, so for example I don’t use the robot for every case just because it is there. I take pride in trying to explain the problem and the treatment options in normal terms that don’t require a medical degree to understand. I am a straight-shooter and will be frank during these discussions.

Clinical Interests
I enjoy general surgery specifically because it allows variety. However, I am particularly interested in minimally invasive (laparoscopic & robotic) surgery and cancer operations.
Personal Interests
I enjoy hiking in the mountains, and we get to Colorado every year. I grew up on a farm in Iowa — and the closest I get to farming these days is raising Kiko goats — they are great for clearing brush out of the woods! I enjoy motorcycles & muscle cars.
