Tara received her Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Quincy University in 2000. She received her Master of Social Work degree from the University of Illinois in 2005, with an emphasis on community mental health. She is credentialed as a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. Tara serves the adult population, ages 18 and over.
Tara is a trauma informed therapist. She uses a person-centered approach, and tailors her interventions to each individual based on their goals, preferences, and needs. She is trained in evidenced-based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy for PTSD, Motivational Interviewing, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). She also has training and experience in treating veteran populations who struggle with re-entry and various trauma-related problems, including posttraumatic stress. Tara has special interest in the treatment of posttraumatic stress and other trauma-related issues. She also has experience and interest in the treatment of mood disorders, anxiety disorders, adjustment problems, and personality disorders.
