Jeri attended Quincy College, then received her Bachelor of Science in Social Services from Troy University in Alabama and her Master of Social Work from the George Warren Brown School of Social Work at Washington University in St. Louis. Her post-graduate experience ranges from working at Chaddock as a therapist and ultimately vice president of programs, where she developed the community-based programs. She also worked at the Crisis Prevention Institute where she taught crisis intervention worldwide. She then worked as the state disaster coordinator for Lutheran Social Services for the state of Mississippi after Hurricane Katrina. She returned home to Quincy and worked as an outpatient therapist at Transitions and a crisis counselor for Cultural Care Au Pair, before coming to Quincy Medical Group. Her specialties are crisis work and trauma counseling.
