QUINCY, IL – Safe Kids Adams County and Quincy Medical Group (QMG) Pediatrics department are hosting a free Safe Kids Health Fair on Saturday, June 12 from 9 a.m. – Noon in the QMG employee parking lot located at 11th and Maine St in Quincy (across from QMG’s 1101 Maine St building).

The Safe Kids Health Fair will provide a wide variety of activities to promote safety and health for kids in the area. The event features police officers, firefighters, bike safety, games, and activities on topics including health, dental hygiene, mental health, developmental milestones, sports medicine, and literacy.

In addition, all children who attend will have the opportunity to enter their names into a drawing for a new bike, sponsored by State Farm Agent Bill Terlisner. A bike course will be set up for kids to learn safe ways to ride a bike. Families are encouraged to bring their children’s bikes to participate in the course. Bike helmets will be given out, while supplies last.

Safe Kids Adams County Coordinator Triena Larsen shared, “While the Safe Kids Health Fair offers fun for the whole family, it is about so much more than that. We want to keep kids safe and protected, and the fair provides helpful information to help them avoid injuries and accidents.”

QMG Director of Primary Services in Nursing JoAnn Legg said the fair provides a time for families to come and have access to a wide variety of community resources in one place.

“Our QMG Pediatrics department is thrilled to partner with the Safe Kids Adams County Coalition to offer this fair for area families,” Legg said. “We want to ensure all of our community’s kids are kept safe, and the fair offers so many interactive and fun booths for families to learn ways to lead healthy and safe lives.”

All those who attend are asked to wear a mask to keep everyone safe. In the case of rain, the fair will take place on Saturday, June 19 from 9 a.m. – Noon.
