Optometrist Kelly Sharpe is thrilled to join the team at Quincy Medical Group’s Eye and Vision Institute, providing patients with comprehensive care under one roof, close to home. “Quincy Medical Group provides both the time and resources to ensure we’re providing the best care to our patients with each visit.”
For Dr. Sharpe, it’s important that none of her patients leave with questions unanswered and feel confident with the care they are receiving. Building connections with patients allows Dr. Sharpe to understand the patient’s history and goals. These connections start with education. “Even if a patient has normal, healthy eyes I want to walk the patient through what I’m looking at and why the eye is healthy. If there is a concern, I want the patient to understand what that concern is.”
Ultimately, Dr. Sharpe wants patients to know she’s available for them. “I’m here to meet whatever need they have and get them to where they need to go.”
Dr. Sharpe and her family are from the area, and she and her husband recently welcomed a baby boy. Dr. Sharpe received her B.S. degree in Exercise Science, with a minor in biology from Truman State University and her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Missouri – St. Louis College of Optometry. She is a member of the American Optometric Association and Missouri Optometric Association.
