QMG Eye and Vision Institute is pleased to announce the arrival of a new optometrist, Dr. Michael Benedict. Dr. Benedict brings a passion for vision care and a commitment to serving his community.
Dr. Benedict’s interest in optometry began during a high school job shadowing experience when he witnessed the intricate workings of the human eye. “The first time I looked through the ophthalmoscope and saw the back of the eye, I was hooked,” he shared.
Dr. Benedict, a Hannibal native, spent the past nine years in Mexico, Missouri. His family’s roots and a desire to give back to his community drew him back to the area. “I grew up in Hannibal. My parents and grandparents still live in Hannibal. I couldn’t wait to come back here and get involved in the Tri-State community again,” he said.
He is eager to get to know patients in the region and support their eye care needs. Dr. Benedict emphasizes a collaborative approach to care: “I want to keep you informed about treatment options so you can make informed decisions that best suit your visual needs.”
Dr. Benedict holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Missouri and a Doctor of Optometry degree from the Indiana University School of Optometry. He is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Missouri Optometric Association.
Dr. Benedict is now accepting new patients. Call QMG Eye and Vision Institute at (217) 222-EYES (3937) to schedule an appointment or visit qmgeyes.com to learn more.
