Quincy Medical Group (QMG) proudly announces the addition of Board-Certified Urologist Peter Minich, MD, PhD, MAPP. He brings extensive experience and deep expertise to our community’s patients. Dr. Minich will see patients at QMG in Quincy and Pittsfield.
“Medicine inspired me,” said Dr. Minich. “Growing up in a medical family, the idea of choosing a career that reflected passion was instilled in me at an early age. The human side, the use of science, and the ability to work both with my mind and hands to benefit the community, made urology the right choice for me.”
Dr. Minich earned his Doctor of Medicine from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. He holds a PhD in Educational Leadership & Human Development from Vanderbilt University and a Master of Applied Positive Psychology (MAPP) from the University of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Minich completed his residency in Adult & Pediatric Urology at the University of Toronto and a prestigious fellowship through the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, the MacKenzie Fellowship, in Australia and New Zealand.
Dr. Minich joins the QMG Urology Team including Dr. Matthew Knudson, Dr. Daniel Schneider, and Physician Assistant Steven Rosen. He shared that QMG’s unique culture, where strong physician leadership aligns to foster excellence in patient care, was a major factor in his decision.
“QMG is one of the few environments where strong physician leadership aligns to foster excellence in patient care,” he explained. “It’s a wonderful environment to practice in.”
Beyond his medical expertise, Dr. Minich expresses a deep appreciation for Quincy’s rich history.
“Just like urology has a storied past, Quincy’s historic structures define a large part of the city,” he said. “We are lucky enough to live in one such structure and are honored to make sure it remains for future generations to enjoy.”
Looking towards the future of urology, Dr. Minich reflects on the rapid advancements in the field, a field he’s honored to work in.
“I started my career transplanting kidneys,” he shares. “In 20 short years technology has exploded. It’s amazing what can be achieved with minimal morbidity. Every day I am in awe of what we can do to help our patients and community.”
Dr. Minich’s arrival expands QMG’s commitment to providing comprehensive urologic care to the Quincy community. To schedule an appointment, call (217) 222‑6055, ext. 3894. For more information, visit quincymedgroup.com.
