October marks Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a time not only to raise awareness but also to take action. The Illinois Breast and Cervical Cancer Program (IBCCP) and the Hancock County Health Department are partnering with Quincy Medical Group (QMG) to offer free mammograms to Illinois residents who are either uninsured or have high-deductible health plans.
On Tuesday, October 8, from 9 a.m. to noon, eligible individuals are invited to visit Quincy Medical Group at 1118 Hampshire St. in Quincy. During this event, participants will have the opportunity to complete an enrollment application and consult with medical professionals specializing in breast cancer screenings. Those who qualify for the program can either receive their mammogram on the same day or schedule one for a later date.
Please bring the following documents to the event:
- Income verification (two most recent paycheck stubs or recent 1040 tax forms)
- Age verification (driver’s license copy, ID card, or birth certificate)
- Insurance verification (copy of the front & back of your card)
