Sweet Potato Chili

 

Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean ground meat (turkey, beef, deer)
  • 3 large sweet potatoes, cut into ½ inch cubes
  • 1 large onion, finely diced (optional)
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced (jar garlic is fine too)
  • 2 can (30 oz) black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can (30 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 2 cups tomato sauce
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • Pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, brown ground meat at medium-high heat until meat is no longer pink.
  2. Place cooled cooked meat and all other ingredients in a crock pot or freezer gallon bag (thaw when ready to use).
  3. Cook on high for 4 hours or low 8 hours.
  4. Top with shredded cheese if desired and enjoy!
