Quincy Medical Group (QMG) continues to plan for coronavirus activity (COVID-19) as this newly identified virus continues to spread. QMG has been working with healthcare providers and facilities throughout our region, taking all necessary precautions in coordination with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and our local health departments.
In response, QMG has set up a COVID-19 Hotline, which is staffed with a trained clinical team to screen and evaluate patients. This number is 217-277-4001. The hotline will be operational the same hours as the QMG Ambulatory Care Center (ACC): 7 a.m.-7 p.m. every Monday-Friday; 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturdays; and 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Sundays.
Outside of these hours, QMG will partner with Blessing Health System to automatically roll over calls to Blessing Health System’s hotline at (217) 277-3504. In some cases, patients may be sent directly to the hospital hotline.
Patients should follow these steps when calling the hotline:
- Individuals who are experiencing symptoms related to COVID-19 including fever, cough, and shortness of breath should call the established hotline at 217-277-4001. If individuals are feeling ill or if they have been exposed to illness, we recommend they stay home and call the hotline for screening.
- Individuals will be screened over the phone by our clinical staff. If patients meet clinical criteria, they will be directed to the new Flu-Like Illness Screening Center, set up in collaboration between QMG, SIU, and Blessing Health System, for evaluation. If patients are directed to the Center, they will complete a brief registration. Lab testing will be performed only if medically indicated and if available.
QMG recommends that patients attend appointments alone if possible, or limit those needed for accompanying purposes.
