What to do if my child has a Concussion graphicIf you think your child has experienced a concussion there are several actions you can take:

  • Call your child’s doctor for an appointment
  • Call the Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Department at (217)222-2663
  • If your child was injured during practice or a game, stop by our free sports concussion clinic on the first floor of the 1118 Hampshire building Monday – Thursday: 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. or Friday: 8 a.m. – 11 a.m.

If your child is active or plays organized sports, you should consider a baseline test for concussions.

Dr. Biggs and the QMG Orthopedics & Sports Medicine Department use the ImPACT Baseline test.

Your child takes a baseline test that is saved in our system. Then, if you suspect your child has experienced a concussion, they will take a post-injury test that will aid Dr. Biggs in diagnosing their injury and possible concussion.

What is the ImPACT Test?
