At Quincy Medical Group, we believe that patients and their families shouldn’t have to fight the complexities of cancer alone, especially the newly diagnosed patient.

Understanding your diagnosis is important. Before you begin your treatment plan, our doctors will work to provide you with an accurate diagnosis, so we can tailor a treatment plan specific to you and your cancer type. To determine your diagnosis, you may have to undergo tests to assess what type of cancer you have and how developed it is. Not all tests will be required of every patient, but your doctor will work with you to determine the best ones for you. These tests may include:

Imaging

Imaging tests can be used in many ways, including to look for cancer, to find out how far it has developed, and to help determine if cancer treatment is working. These tests may include:

Biopsy

A biopsy is a minor procedure during which a small amount of tissue is taken from your body. This sample is then examined under a microscope to determine a diagnosis.

Lab tests

You may have labs done in accordance with your treatment plan.
