Sweet Pota­to Chili

Ingre­di­ents

  • 1 lb lean ground meat (turkey, beef, deer)
  • 3 large sweet pota­toes, cut into ½ inch cubes
  • 1 large onion, fine­ly diced (option­al)
  • 4 gar­lic cloves, minced (jar gar­lic is fine too)
  • 2 can (30 oz) black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can (30 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 2 cups toma­to sauce
  • 1 tea­spoon ground cumin
  • 1 tea­spoon chili powder
  • Pep­per to taste

Instruc­tions

  1. In a medi­um saucepan, brown ground meat at medi­um-high heat until meat is no longer pink.
  2. Place cooled cooked meat and all oth­er ingre­di­ents in a crock pot or freez­er gal­lon bag (thaw when ready to use).
  3. Cook on high for 4 hours or low 8 hours.
  4. Top with shred­ded cheese if desired and enjoy!
